Responsible for accomplishing department objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating department activities. Responsible to plan and oversee the work of others. The manager is responsible for planning and maintaining work systems, procedures and policies that enable and encourages the optimum performance of its people and other resources within a business unit.
Provide full social work coverage to include an assessment or patient’s psychosocial functioning, determine need for financial and medical assistance, provides supportive counseling, and arranges concrete services. Participate in counseling and determining the suitability for all treatment modalities. Coordinate interdisciplinary consultation.
The Respiratory Therapy Clinical Educator is an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team. The Clinical Educator will be responsible for teaching various healthcare topics to Respiratory Therapy staff and students as well as providing and arranging all in-services for the respiratory therapy department. The individual will encourage the development of communication skills and greater critical thinking skills through appropriate assignments for therapists and students. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to coordinate the highest quality respiratory care for the patients with an emphasis on compassion.
Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Critical care Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. In addition to general nursing care, responsibilities of Critical care Nurses include (but are not limited to):
Assessment: Conducts ongoing focused physical, psychosocial, and pain assessments; includes assessment of patient education needs.
Planning: Utilizes the assessment, identifies problems, and makes nursing diagnoses, formulate goals, teaching plans and outcomes to create an individualized plan of care. Identifies individual patient goals, readiness to learn, and incorporates family into the plan of care.
Implementation: Prioritizes and implements an efficient nursing plan of care.
Evaluation/Reassessment: Consistently conducts timely evaluations, recognizes changes in patient conditions, determines when reassessments are needed, and adjusts the plan of care as necessary. Compares expected and achieved outcomes of nursing care utilizing the plan of care. Evaluate patient’s response to interventions and communicates with other healthcare team members the need to revise or maintain plan of care.
The Professional Liability Specialist plays an integral role in the Risk Management Department, focusing on identification of risk and issues of exposure to the institution, tracking and trending liabilities, and working with outside counsel to assist in the defense of lawsuits.
