  • Overview

    Manages, and implements various accounting procedures in compliance with hospital policies, and procedures. Participates in the department's performance improvement, and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activies.




    • Performs monthly closing of Accounts Payable (A/P), and Materials Management (MM) Systems in Meditech.
    • Prepares, and maintains monthly Accounts Payable sub ledger roll-forward schedule.
    • Performs monthly expense analysis on various accounts, and provides explanations of variances to Accounting Manager for monthly financials.
    • Maintains monthly, and annual PPE schedules, and prepares necessary journal entries monthly, and at year-end.
    • Maintains prepaid expense schedule, and prepares monthly amortization entries, and reconciliations.
    • Prepares check requests for Gift Shop purchases.
    • Assists with weekly accounts payable payment schedule, and escalated vendor issues.
    • Prepares, and maintains rental income schedule, and prepares monthly accrual entries, and reconciliations.
    • Prepares, and disburses monthly rental income invoices, and statements.
    • Collects monthly rental income.
    • Prepares monthly medical billing statements, and requisitions for teaching fees.
    • Records monthly medical billing revenue, and accruals.
    • Maintains monthly accrued audit fees schedule.
    • Prepares, and maintains monthly Unclaimed Property from Vendors Schedule.
    • Assists in Finance internal audits, and annual year-end audits.
    • Performs various ad-hoc duties as assigned.



    • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting Major Preferred)


    • 3 years minimum experience in Finance and\or General Accounting preferably within a hospital setting.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Profiency with Microsoft Office to include Excel, and Word as well as Lotus.
    • Enterprise Accounting Software, Financial, and Data Analysis, Supervisory skills.
    • Good interpersonal skills a must.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Involves standing, walking, sitting, lifting and talking.
    • May include some repetitive motions.
    • Perform other duties as required.
