  • Overview

    Responsible for the coordination of work, scheduling of employees and oversight of workflow and coordination of processes. Position typically is responsible for the work of two or more employees, has direct influence over the hiring, training, coaching and counseling for employees under their supervision.

    Responsibilities

    • Accomplish deliverables by planning, monitoring, and appraising job results of employees under direct management.
    • Develop employees through coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
    • Serve as subject matter expert and generally works on most complex assignments as well as performing supervisory duties.
    • Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, observing controls and equipment.
    • Monitor staff work, implementing programs and procedures, prepare reports and identify issues or potential road blocks for production and efficiency. Recommend solutions to manager for long-term fix. 
    • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing standards.
    • Ensure operation of equipment, call for repair maintenance as necessary.
    • Provide information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing performance and data. Answer questions and respond to requests.
    • Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
    • Maintain safe and clean work environment, educate staff and those supported.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    • Ensures excellent customer service is being delivered to all of our customers.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Associate’s Degree required.
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
    • Educational requirement may be offset with extraordinary professional experience.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of (5) five years of supervisory job experience.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Strong technical knowledge of the area being managed, often serves as the subject matter expert.
    • Ability to direct and oversee the work of others is required.
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
    • Ability to be decisive based on prior experience and interprets regulations/policy.
    • Ability to fully utilize BHMC’s electronic record systems, equipment and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Consistent with that necessary to work in a variety of patient care and office settings.
    • Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day.
    • Position will be required to stoop, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
